Saying " I Do" at the Harper Fowkles House in Savannah

Planning a wedding is a journey filled with excitement and endless possibilities.

Choosing the right venue plays a crucial role.

Savannah, with its historic charm and romantic ambiance, is a popular destination for couples seeking a wedding that transcends the ordinary, offering a plethora of historic venues that add a touch of timeless elegance to their celebration.

Shametra and Draper chose the stunning 19th Century Harper Fowkles House for their wedding ceremony. This Greek Revival mansion in Savannah's Historic District has the most imposing façade, with a grand colonnaded porch and sweeping double stairs.

The bridal suite, with its carefully curated antiques, was a beautiful, serene space for Shametra to put on her gown and royal blue shoes, and one could peek out the window to the meticulously manicured parterre gardens and brick-floored courtyard, a dreamy outdoor setting for the wedding ceremony, where the florist put the finishing touches to a rose-filled archway.

The royal blue of Shametra's wedding shoes was the same color as Draper's tuxedo, and many of the arriving guests' attire mirrored this vibrant shade. Surrounded by the whispers of history and the love of their closest friends and family, the couple promised to love and cherish each other for a lifetime.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds were chauffered in a beautiful wedding-white vintage Bentley to their reception at Soho South.

This chic and contemporary venue ( once an automotive service station ) seamlessly combines original industrial aesthetics with modern elegance : brick walls, lofty ceilings with exposed beams, steel windows and garage doors....creating a vibrant atmosphere for the wedding reception.

As the wedding reception drew to a close, friends and family gatherd outside to give Shametra and Draper a traditional "sparkler send-off". The couple walked hand-in-hand through the tunnel of twinkling lights, basking in the glow of the sparklers and the love of their friends and family, to where their getaway vehicle awaited ready to whisk them away to their new life together.
