I don’t think I ever set out to be a photographer. Indeed, as a child I’m sure I was unaware such a career existed.

What I do know is that, growing up in England, I was intensely stirred, emotionally, by the beauty I found in my surroundings.

They may not have always been conventionally so, but I could always find beauty in what I saw.

 

When I first discovered photography I thought it was the closest thing to magic that I had ever known.

Trying to hold onto that precious moment I had blessedly experienced, keeping it safe until I could get into the darkroom.

There it could be brought back to life…the feelings it evoked be felt again, this time from a slightly new perspective.

 

Love, Loss, Longing….Re-Birth….the whole circle of life.

 

After many years living in the highly-charged energy and glamour of Los Angeles, I found myself spending time in place that seems more akin to where my story began.

The faded, genteel beauty of Savannah inspires me anew. Much like England it has an ethereal, romantic quality to it.
